6 billion SEK, making it Sweden’s largest customer, even after a UN
report confirmed the UAE was arming the RSF and despite its record of
illicit transfers. An investigation by Swedish Radio EKOT on 8
December 2025 found evidence that Swedish developed AT 4 anti tank
weapons have appeared in Sudan’s war. While Kerstin Bergeå of the
Swedish Peace and Arbitration Society called this “a major disgrace
and scandal”, her claim that the arms trade is impossible to
control weakens accountability. UN experts, Amnesty International and
SIPRI have repeatedly documented deliberate re exports and embargo
