Afgelopen
week kwam Noorwegen twee keer in het nieuws in verband met Jemen.
Voor de kunst werd door Houthi's een drone naar ontwerp van Kongsberg
gevonden. Volgens de VS was die met een wetenschappelijke
onderzoeksmissie bezig. Volgens Houthi's met spionage voor de door
Saoedi-Arabië geleidde strijdmacht tegen hen.
Afgelopen
week stelde Noorwegen een wapenembargo in tegen de Verenigde
Arabische Emiraten. (Voor Nederland een niet onbelangrijke klant voor
wapens). Ik noemde dit in een tweet goed nieuws. Scepsis mag niet tot
zwartkijken leiden. En positieve stappen moeten toegejuigd worden
en dienen als voorbeeld voor anderen. Dus dat er in 2018 nog maar
veel van die maatregelen genomen zullen worden. Ik hoop er het
beste van, maar vrees dat de glijbaan naar beneden alleen maar harden
zal gaan glijden.
Ik wijs
nog even naar de link onder 24 (WMEAT) dat is al decennia een van de
belangrijkste (en zeker overzichtelijkste) bronnen. Zoals alle bronnen heeft ook deze zijn nadelen.
